In April 2005, Aduna put on ‘The Healers’ festival in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
The event explored links between culture and healing in Africa and had parallel activities for adults and children. Seminars, debates and film were available for the former whilst the latter had a chance to do drumming, listen to stories and learn how to make Malian mudcloth. Each day culminated in a live music performance. On the Saturday people saw first hand the "ndepp" tradition from Senegal and on the Sunday they witnessed a live gnawa performance from the ancient cultures of Morocco
