In the UK, Aduna arranges workshops around the performing arts from Africa (including drumming, storytelling, dance, DJing,) with young people who are often disaffected or disadvantaged. Participation in our workshops enhances young people's self-esteem and gives them a sense of achievement. It engenders respect and an ability to work collaboratively.
Our past, present and future partners, include the Black Cultural Archives, Kids Company, Guys Hospital Adolescent Psychiatric services and Core Arts as well as mainstream schools. Our work challenges stereotypes of Africa, creates fun learning environments and enables participants to try something new!
In Africa, we are delighted to continue our association with Mali’s fabulous new modern arts conservatory and are actively seeking funding and donations to implement training programmes for young musicians in rights and representation issues. Our collaborative goal is to make the Conservatory a regional centre of excellence for the arts !
Your donation can help us achieve this !
